Mezcal Gin is a double distilled, micro-batch with the added complexity of pechuga style distillation. With a Mezcal base of 100% wild Agave Cenizo from the state of Durango, Mexico. Mature 12-year-old Cenizo Agave exudes aromatics and caramelised fruit flavours once transformed into Mezcal with the assistance of mountain water.
Through the Pechuga style process and London Dry Gin method, MG Mezcal Gin has been able to obtain the classic characteristics of a great Mezcal with the true essence of a London Dry Gin. The macerated botanical blend is infused into the Mezcal by the rising vapours during the second distillation.

How It's Made
The ripe agave Cenizo is harvested by hand at 12 years of age when the maximum sugar content is present. Jimadores use axes to remove the agaves from the ground before placing them in volcanic rock-lined pits for cooking over 3-5 days. Once cooked they are milled by hand to extract the caramelised agave nectars and the residual liquid and mash are fermented in stone tubs.
While the first distillation of Mezcal is being completed, hand-picked botanicals, such as juniper, cardamom, coriander seed, orange peel, nutmeg, chile ancho, hibiscus, lemongrass and avocado leaves are macerated to extract their oils and flavours and then steeped into the still for the second distillation to occur. This second distillation infuses the gin aromatics and profile into the Mezcal to create the best of both worlds, in one bottle.
