Product Description

El Cristiano is the world’s most delicious and additive-free tequila; they now present the world’s most delicious Mezcal. Made by Abel Nolasco from San Luis del Rio in Oaxaca, with the same passion, purity and purpose, and absolutely no compromise or shortcuts. Using ancestral production methods handed down from generations, this artisanal Mezcal is a shining light for the back bar or your collection.


Smells Like

On the nose, this Espadin opens with bold, smoky aromas of roasted agave, a harmonious signature of traditional pit-cooking. Beneath the smoke, a warm, grain-like note of cracked wheat adds depth and rustic charm. As the spirit breathes, delicate layers of citrus zest emerge, brightening the bouquet with hints of lime and orange blossom and fine herbal undertones.

Tastes Like

At first sip, this Espadín mezcal reveals a generous, full-bodied texture that immediately commands attention. On the palate, the deep, earthy essence of roasted agave unfolds, layered with a subtle kick of black pepper. These savory tones give way to vibrant fruit flavours, crisp granny smith green apples and zesty orange peels that add brightness and complexity. The finish is long, its controlled and pleasantly warming, leaving a lingering finesse that makes sipping this easy.

How It's Made

The production of El Cristiano Mezcal begins with farming and harvesting of ripe 100% Espadin. Cooked underground for 5 days to release the sugars. The cooked agave is then split by a machete and hebradoras, and finally the sugars are extracted using a tahona to slowly and softly release the fructan-laden pulp. The patience of fermentation, with fibres in, is done in large wooden vats with wild airborne yeasts. Once fermented it is double distilled in Copper stills, and slightly reduced with spring water to 44% ABV to complete the world’s most delicious Mezcal.
