What if a brand wasn’t a single distillery, but a “greatest hits” collection from the best tequila producers in Mexico? What if it allowed you to tour the entire landscape of agave mastery, one bottle at a time?

That is the vision behind Tequila ArteNOM. We are incredibly proud to introduce this curated collection to Australia, a brand that perfectly aligns with the Agave Lux philosophy of celebrating terroir, tradition, and artistry.

In the world of tequila, every bottle must be marked with a “NOM,” or Norma Oficial Mexicana. This number identifies the distillery where the tequila was produced. ArteNOM’s brilliance is in its simplicity: it’s a collection of unique Selecciónes from different legendary NOMs.

At first glance, it appears to be a series of four unique expressions. But for those in the know—and for those about to be—this collection is something more. It’s a celebration of the distillers themselves. ArteNOM champions the mastery of who crafts the spirit and how it is made. The three expressions we are launching with are from some of the most recognised and revered names in the game: Felipe Camarena (NOM 1579) and Enrique Fonseca (NOM 1146), alongside the legendary Sergio Vivanco (NOM 1414).

This is the pinnacle of agave craftsmanship, one master at a time. Meet the new collection now available at Agave Lux.

1. Selección de 1579 Blanco Clasico

  • NOM: 1579 (El Pandillo)
  • Master: Felipe Camarena
  • Why it’s special: From one of the most revered minds in modern tequila, this is a masterclass in highland purity. Felipe Camarena is an engineer and an innovator, famous for building his own machinery (like his “Frankenstein” roller mill) and his obsessive focus on sustainability, using both rainwater and deep-well spring water.

Crafted at the famed El Pandillo distillery, this spirit is a pure, unadulterated expression of Los Altos agave. It’s a bold, complex Blanco with aromas of rising pastry dough, bright mint, and cut grass. The palate is unmistakably mineral-rich—a hallmark of the region’s red soil—leading to a silky, almost buttery texture that finishes with the clean spice of white pepper and fresh green chile. A true benchmark for what a highland Blanco can be.

2. Selección de 1414 Reposado

  • NOM: 1414 (Vivanco Distillery)
  • Master: Sergio Vivanco
  • Why it’s special: A global standout from a family with a staggering, century-long legacy in agave farming. The Vivanco family’s deep, multi-generational knowledge of the agave plant itself is what makes this tequila so expressive. They are farmers first, and that connection to the earth shines through.

This highland Reposado is rested for 4 months in American White Oak, just long enough to tame the spirit without overpowering the agave. It’s a velvety, expressive tequila with a fascinating herbaceous profile of sweet potato and honey. The oak lends a soft, comforting character of salted vanilla cookies and allspice, which is perfectly balanced by a gentle chile heat that allows the sweet, cooked agave to remain the star of the show.

3. Selección de 1146 Añejo

  • NOM: 1146
  • Master: Enrique Fonseca
  • Why it’s special: This is patience in a bottle. Enrique Fonseca is a master blender who operates from a distillery that was once a functioning hacienda, and he famously possesses one of the largest collections of aged spirits in Mexico. This Añejo is his art form.

It’s an extraordinary spirit that is double-barrel aged for a combined 2.8 years. First, it rests for 1.4 years in French Oak, building structure and spice. Then, it is moved to American White Oak casks for another 1.4 years to develop richness and sweet, vanillin notes. The result is a lush, deeply complex, and beautifully structured spirit. It avoids the heavy, one-note oakiness of many Añejos, instead offering a dynamic profile of toffee, walnut candy, bright orange zest, and rich dark chocolate.

4. Selección de 1123 Blanco Historico

  • NOM: 1123 (Cascahuín)
  • Master: Salvador “Chava” Rosales Torres
  • Why it’s special: A true tribute to a nearly lost, 1900s production technique from the legendary Cascahuín distillery in the Tequila Valley. This is not your typical Blanco. After distillation, the spirit is “conditioned” for 21 to 28 days in large casks that previously held brandy, and then held mezcal.
This is not ageing—it’s a resting process that imparts incredible character without adding colour or qualifying as a “Reposado.”

The result is a wild, aromatic, and totally unique spirit. It’s a journey from roasted pineapple and hot cinnamon to baking spices and sweet potato, all underpinned by the classic, earthy agave notes that Cascahuín is famous for.
