Reposado

Reposado is a category of Tequila that has been aged in oak barrels, officially from two months up to a year. Reposado means “rested”, which is essentially what the Tequila is doing over this short ageing process.

It's time in barrels gives it a subtle golden colour, thanks to the oak of the barrels, and helps to balance the strong agave flavour without masking it. Tequila Reposado is smoother than Tequila Blanco, but lighter in colour than Tequila Añejo.

At their best, Reposado's balance the boldness and backbone of a Blanco Tequila with the added character of caramel and woody notes of the toasted oak used in the ageing process.
