Product Description
Produced by Lucio Morales until his death in 2021, the tradition is continued by Lucio’s son Oscar Morales and his cousins, who represent the 4th generation mezcaleros in the family and re-producing this recipe for his mother.
The Original recipe of Lucio Morales Lopez is finished with Lemongrass. Lucio makes this specifically for his wife Agustina to enjoy. They use their homegrown lemongrass macerated and infused with their world-class Espadin Mezcal. Technically, it is an abocado Mezcal created with the ideal balance between flavour, price, and ABV for cocktails.

How It's Made
Produced in San Dionisio Ocotepec, Oaxaca, Mexico, at 1,680 Meters (5,512 Feet) above sea level, this 100% Agave Espadín (Agave Angustifolia Haw.) is cooked in a pit oven fuelled by Encino and white Pine over a 5-7 day period. Crushed by tahona and then naturally fermented in open-air pine Vats for another 4-6 Days. Distilled slowly in 2 x 275-litre copper pot alembic stills. Freshly cut lemongrass is added to the stills before the second distillation, and a bit more is macerated in the finished product for an extra touch of aromatics and colour.

Zacate Limón could be best described as a mezcal limoncello, but without the hangovers.
The lemongrass flavor is prominent, the sweetness isn’t overbearing and the zesty citrus flavours are really nicely balanced that create a fantastic finish that linger on the palate.
The use of pine vats for the fermentation of mezcal really came through for me on this one, combined with the bright lemongrass flavours this was very enjoyable to drink
This is a fantastic abocado mezcal that deserves a spot in any bar. It’s perfect to be enjoyed neat or chilled and works perfectly for a summer spritz, marg, or even a simple mezcal and tonic.

It doesn’t taste like Tequila, THANK GOD!
It smells nice, tastes nice…..now I haven’t had it with a mix yet as I’m shotting it for a week. It’s for a particular purpose.
It sort of smells like a really nice wine/cider, I hate both btw. I’m a scotch drinker so I’m describing as best as I can. If you’re after a spirit that’s not yuk, this will surely be a hit with the girls.
This one is only 40% alcohol so it’s perfect! It’s not too sweet either, depends what you mix it with I guess.
I’ll leave another review when I mix it with something.
